Overview & identification
Norwegian Salmon, also called Norwegian Atlantic Salmon, is Salmo salar of the family Salmonidae, order Salmoniformes, class Actinopterygii and phylum Chordata. Unlike everything else in our range, this is not an Arabian Sea catch: it is farmed in the deep, cold fjords of Norway under strictly monitored aquaculture, then imported to us frozen via the UAE. The fillets are firm and thick with a vibrant orange colour and delicate marbling running through them. Each one is blast-frozen immediately after handling, which is what preserves the natural flavor, texture and nutrients through the journey, and the result meets or exceeds international food safety standards for sushi-grade fish.
Flavor & texture
Norwegian Salmon is buttery, rich and mildly sweet, with a delicate flaky texture that genuinely melts in the mouth. Its high fat content is what sets it apart from the lean white fish in our range β that fat carries the flavor and gives a luxurious quality no local species quite matches. It is mild and versatile rather than assertive, pairing naturally with citrus, herbs, garlic and creamy sauces, and it never needs heavy spicing to be worth eating. The cold, clean water the fish are raised in is directly responsible for the firm texture and high nutrient density, and you can taste the difference against warmer-water farmed salmon.
Sizing, cutting & yield
This product is sold as whole fillets rather than by cut, so there are no cleaning options or yield percentages to consider β what you order is what arrives. Each fillet weighs between 1.4 and 1.8 kg, giving generous portions suited to both home cooking and professional kitchens, and the minimum order is one fillet. It is delivered frozen, not fresh, which is a deliberate choice: blast-freezing at source preserves the fish far better over the distance involved than chilled transport would, and it is also what makes the fillets safe to eat raw.
Cooking & health benefits
Grilled or pan-seared, Norwegian Salmon develops a crisp exterior while staying tender and juicy inside. Baked or roasted, it pairs beautifully with lemon, garlic and herb butter. Its sushi-grade quality also makes it suitable for sushi and sashimi, it lifts pasta and salads as a protein, and smoking intensifies its richness further. Nutritionally it is a standout: Omega-3 fatty acids help lower cholesterol, reduce heart disease risk and support brain function, while high-quality protein supports muscle growth, energy and immunity. Vitamins D and B12 strengthen bones and general wellbeing, and the low carbohydrate, high healthy-fat profile suits keto, paleo and high-protein eating.
